About Dr. Bloch

Dr. Karen Bloch, DC, ATC, and the owner of Bloch Wellness and Sports Medicine, is a true enthusiast of sports and wellness. She is renowned for her cutting-edge performance center and is widely recognized as a visionary in her field. Dr. Bloch is deeply committed to giving back to her community and mentoring future generations. Her distinguished career in chiropractic care, athletic training, sports medicine, research, and development spans over 16 years, and she is highly regarded for her innovative approaches and exceptional levels of care. Dr. Bloch’s distinguished career in Chiropractic Care, Athletic Training, and Sports Medicine spans more than 16 years. Her many accomplishments and career highlights include:
  • Dr. Bloch led the sports medicine and athletic training programs for the USA Water Polo Teams at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and the London Olympics in 2012.
  • 2016, Bloch Wellness and Sports Medicine was featured on NBC News for her work with Olympic athletes.
  • 2016, Recognized by California State Assembly “Women of Distinction.”
  • 2017, 2018, and 2019 Awarded Long Beach Press-Telegram “Reader’s Choice Award” for Best Medical Spa.
  • 2018 and 2019, Bloch Wellness and Sports Medicine was awarded Best Chiropractor from Los Angeles Magazine’s “Best of LA”

Specialties

Dr. Bloch has created a unique facility offering the best combinations of modalities along with her nerve tracing technique and comprehensive full-body assessments. There is an emphasis on rehabilitation, quick but safe returns from injury, and injury prevention. She has treated patients using a combination of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), ShockWave Therapy, Laser Therapy, Cryosauna, Brain mapping/Neurofeedback, Kinetisense, Optogait, and more cutting-edge treatments to help identify and alleviate sources of pain. This multifaceted approach delivers a comprehensive care regimen that returns patients to their everyday lives. Dr. Bloch took on the prestigious appointment as a United State Olympic Committee Sports Medicine staff member for Team U.S.A Water Polo in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2012 London Olympics. Her experience as a Division 1 basketball player gave her insight into professional athleticism and how athletes deserve to be treated so they can perform at their best. Dr.Bloch is currently the team chiropractor for the Anaheim Ducks, where she utilizes her Olympic experience to benefit the team. She has worked with USA Softball, helping them prevent injury and improve softball performance using her Key Koncepts.  Bloch Wellness and Sports Medicine is an affiliate of the California State University Long Beach (CSULB) athletic department and a contracted provider where the athletes often use HBOT and other modalities. In addition, Dr. Bloch provides clinical practice oversight for CSULB student athletic trainers in the MSAT program and is a clinical preceptor for chiropractic students at Southern California University of Health Sciences. She also serves on the Aquatics Capital of America Board.
